The Commission’s findings, which were compiled between January to June and published on Monday 2 July 2012, reveal that three out of four (76%) UK schools are concerned about boys’ underachievement in reading despite no Government strategy to address the issue.
The report discusses evidence and reasons for the gap between girls’ and boys’ reading, before offering several recommendations for tackling the problem.
A copy of the Commission’s full report is available on the National Literacy Trust website.
