If you are experiencing problems uploading or seeing your profile picture, or are unable to see other tutors’ profile photos, there are several reasons why this might be happening. Here are a few suggestions to solve this:
- The image may not upload automatically as soon as you select it – click the ‘Upload’ button if this is the case.
- Change your web browser:
If you’re using Internet Explorer, please ensure that ‘compatibility view’ is turned off, as it can interfere not only with image uploads, but also with the display of the website in general. Otherwise we would suggest trying another web browser, for example Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
- Cached files:
It is possible that your profile picture may have been cached, so that it does not show correctly when (re-)uploaded, even if it has successfully been uploaded on our system. We suggest you try to force the browser to clear out it’s temporary file cache and reload the page by pressing Ctrl and F5 buttons simultaneously. If you have a Mac you might have to press Apple + R or Command + R.
- Clear your history:
If none of the above has helped, then a last resort may be to clear your entire browsing history, temporary files and cookies. Please note that doing so may potentially interfere with other websites, so this really is a last resort.
