When you use the internet, it’s important that you stay ‘safe’. Other than protecting your privacy, we employ technological means to help you keep your data secure.
SSL – Secure Socket Layer
You will have seen this mentioned on many websites before – SSL is a technology which encrypts data that is sent between your computer and our server, so that only those two can read the information being sent, this preventing eavesdropping by others.
Whenever we ask you to fill in a form, we will do so via a secure SSL connection. You will be able to see that the connection is encrypted by the presence of https:// at the beginning of the address or location bar. Some browsers will also change the colour of the address bar to further highlight this.
Passwords
When you register and select a password, a strength indicator is shown to help you pick a password that is difficult to guess. A ‘strong’ password is one that is at least 10 characters long and contains both lower case and upper case letters, numbers and ideally also some punctuation or other special characters.
Please keep your password confidential at all times, since it is the only way we can identify you on the site. You are responsible for any use of your account, even if somebody else is accessing it without your permission.
